Dr. Angela Smith

I'm on a mission:

To help women who are struggling in any way, shape, or form with their bodies, figure out whats really weighing them down.

I am here to change-up the weight-loss conversation, to open it up & expand upon it. There is so much more to this story than just mainstream's “eat less, move more” rhetoric. It's a much bigger, fuller, & supportive conversation to be having. And this is the place to do it...

You are a complete & whole being of body, mind, & spirit; the sum of all three components working together, always.

And this very one-sided approach, of just “eat less, move more,” focusing solely on the physical body completely discounts the other parts that make you, you. Here, we incorporate & respect the all of you.

For many of us, just the very topic of weight itself brings about all kinds of heavy feelings & emotions which can influence how we think & feel about our bodies, how we think & feel about ourselves, and how all of that affects the overall quality of life and how we show up in it... or not.

And your life, well, that's pretty much what it's all about, isn't it?

Now, around here, I talk & muse a lot about doing life differently, approaching it differently.

And by life I mean your life, sister, and the unique expression of it.

  • Not the life you might find yourself in based on other people's expectations
  • Not the life based on family or work responsibilities
  • Not the life limited by health or weight challenges
  • Not the life cramped by circumstance
  • Not the life held in place by traumas of the past
  • Not the life where you look around & wonder:
How the hell did I get here? When did this happen? Or, I don't even recognize myself anymore.

I mean your life. Created by you, for you, with your heart's truest longings, yearnings, aspirations, & dreams in mind... and the space to allow for them.

I call this living Wild Abandon.

But living Wild Abandon can prove to be difficult when you're in the midst of struggling with the very part of you, your amazing body, that brings the experience of your life to life. This was certainly the case for me, and for a very long time... until it wasn't any longer. And I aim to shorten the learning curve for my sisters.

So, let's put an end to that body or weight struggle, finally, and with a quickness so you can get on with what's most important to you which is what living Wild Abandon is all about.

I teach women how to tap back into their own body-wisdom & soul's voice; that inherent knowledge that so easily gets drowned out by the heaviness of shame, the nonstop mental chatter of everyday responsibilities, expectations, “shoulds, & supposed-to's,” past experiences, and outside influences.

This is my version of living Wild Abandon.

And this is why I do it...

Love Notes

  • I want to thank you with all my heart for all you have done for me. You amaze me with your knowledge of the body and how it works. In just three months, you have helped me come from extreme stress, feeling like an emotional wreck, w/aches & pains, heart burn & anger, to a calm, peaceful me . I've learned the importance of taking care of me first so that I can help others. It also amazed me how during our talks you could see things that I didn't and bring them to my attention. Wow....what a gift you have.

  • Working with Angela helped me realize that the weight around my middle corresponded directly to the weight of the world I carried on my shoulders. And in her gentle, ruthlessly persistent way, she questioned me over and over again on the value of continuing to carry so much weight. For a small person, she can carry a lot of suffering—you can tell her anything. At the same time she helped me structure support for my body and mind in the form of nutrition, companionship, hope and peaceful practices. I’ve lost many pounds as a result of Angela’s coaching, but the biggest weight loss is from my mind. Thank you, Angela!
